“Fatherland” and Jackson Reffitt, the real-life son who turned his father in to the FBI because of his militant role in the January 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, are featured in NYC Media’s NYC Vibe. “Fatherland,” now on Off-Broadway, is a powerful, fast-paced play based on the true story of an 18-year-old who reported his father to the FBI for participating in the January 6th Capitol attack.
Following a successful run in Los Angeles, the production uses public statements, court transcripts, and case evidence to bring the emotional story to life. Created by Stephen Sacks, the play explores the young man’s difficult decision to uphold the truth, risking his relationship with his family and personal stability. In a charged election year, “Fatherland” serves as both a cautionary tale and a poignant reminder of the moral struggles at the heart of family and nation.
