This morning stars T.R. Knight and Alexandra Silber spoke with Dan Mannarino and Hazel Sanchez on PIX11 prior to the opening night of “The Merchant of Venice.” Alexandra Silber and T.R. Knight are starring in a new adaptation of “The Merchant of Venice” at Classic Stage Company as part of its Arlekin in Residency series. Directed and adapted by Igor Golyak, the production takes a bold, modern approach, transforming Shakespeare’s work into a vibrant yet challenging experience that critiques antisemitism and prejudice.
This adaptation uses a nightclub-like setting and integrates contemporary elements to emphasize the play’s themes of bias, love, and justice. Performances run from November 22 to December 22, 2024.
